This is a cool new place! We had heard good things about it, and decided to have breakfast there to try it out. We were impressed right away with the very fun, modern decor, and the inviting rooms. It’s the type of place where you could sit down for a meal, eat at the bar and schmooze, relax for some good coffee and conversation, or even play pool. Not a huge place, but comfy. Finally, the type of artsy cafe you’d find in a big city, but right here in Syracuse! It’s gratifying to see more non-chain businesses taking hold!

We were greeted in a very friendly manner, and eagerly tried out the coffee. It was really good, and I believe much of it is made with a French press. Breakfast was excellent, too. The food is vegetarian, with a number of vegan selections. Although we are not vegetarians, we were impressed with the food. Because it’s sort of a specialty menu, and much of it is organic, the prices are not dirt-cheap, but not too bad, especially given the quality and over-all pleasant atmosphere.

Sometime ago I had written that despite their featuring tasty Gimme Coffee from Ithaca, I had wondered if they would consider getting coffee from Matt at Cafe Kubal, available right here in Eastwood. I’m pleased to note that they recently switched to Matt’s coffee!

The cafe is diversity-friendly and quite laid back, located near the Hawley-Green neighborhood on Burnet Ave. Though they open quite early (what cafe doesn’t?), they also are open well into the evening, and we look forward to stopping by sometime soon to see what it’s like at night.

The hours I’ve listed below are taken right off of the website. The drift I am getting is that they will be expanding these hours, so the times listed here may be subject to change.
